A Place In History

From 1946 she has stood at the familiar corner of Grey and Victoria streets. Victory Lounge has during this time etched itself in Durban's rich and colourful history.
She has been the meeting place of family and friends over the years and there are not many people who have not had a 'bunny chow' in her restaurant or queued to buy some of her famous chilli bites or sweetmeats.

In fact we can tell which day of the week it is by the customers we see on that day.

There are stories of people, newspapers underarm, queuing up outside Victory Lounge on a Friday evening waiting to buy a packet of our Savouries or Chilli Bites. We are pleased to say that we have held this time-honoured tradition.

As the years have passed we have witnessed many changes, seen generation after generation come through our doors, witnessed a new South Africa taking shape and watched as the world wide web takes the world by storm.

We thank you for your loyal support over the years and hope to serve you in the years to come.

It was not until 1945 that the mighty Victory Lounge emerged at the corner of Grey and Victoria Street.
